Select the EXECUTOR with left and right, and navigate the menu with up and down.
You may also be able to switch the EXECUTOR's armaments with the pause button.


Make your selection


FULL SEQUENCE ORDER:
        Press main shot to play the game from start to finish.
        Press subweapon to switch to the replay menu.

        Cross the ocean to the abandoned, war-torn metropolis, penetrating the enemy lines
        to reach the CARDINAL SHAFT, the tower rising from the manmade island.
        Infiltrate the CARDINAL SHAFT through subterranean waterways,
        sabotaging the enemy reproduction facility and aiming for the core.

After completing certain requirements (shown under SEGMENT LOCATION),
some pre-segment menus may present two choices for the next segment.
"BEHIND" allows you to play the rear-guard, while "LEAD" allows you to take the main role.
If you have not completed the requirements, all stages with a choice will default to "BEHIND".
      
        After breaking through one segment, you will be presented with a pre-segment menu.
        You may choose to BREAK or GO ON.
        BREAK will end the current game and return to the main menu.


        If you have used a continue, some segments may be skipped entirely, and others
        may be changed drastically.

When beginning a new stage, various things may change depending on the EXECUTOR's condition.

Your life may come closer to an EXTEND, depending on how much you have left
If you didn't get hit much you will bring a large amount of STELLA to the next stage, making it harder
If you died often you will not bring very much STELLA to the next stage, making it easier
Your lower STELLA limit will rise in inverse proportion to the mistakes made

In other words, the better you play, the harder the game will become.
    




SEGMENT LOCATION:
        After completing certain conditions(), you may choose a single stage from the list.
        Press main shot to play the selected stage.
        Press subweapon to switch to the replay menu.
        Press discharge to skip to the boss of the selected stage.
        Press suspend to switch to the boss replay menu.
        EXECUTOR may still be selected with left, right, and pause.

        Shown onscreen are the highest SPIRIT/KILL/TOKEN scores for each segment (sorted by EXECUTOR and STELLA LEVEL)

        Some segments are wider than the screen, and so will scroll from left to right.

You must breakthrough segment 4 in FULL SEQUENCE ORDER without continuing.
This is the condition mentioned above, but it will not unlock all parts of the game.
    



SHORT MISSION:
        Available after completing certain conditions, this is an abridged FULL SEQUENCE ORDER.
        Before beginning, you may pick which segments you will be in charge of.
        You will not be choosing all the segments, so the game will be much shorter, and many other aspects will change.


TUNING DIPSW:
        Press main shot to enter the options menu.


ARCHIVEMENT OF EXECUTORS:
        Press main shot to view rankings, sorted by SPIRIT/KILL/TOKEN.
        Select FULL SEQUENCE ORDER or SHORT MISSION scores with up and down and switch EXECUTOR with left and right.
        Switch between SPIRIT, KILL, and TOKEN with main shot.


AWAY:
        Press main shot to exit the game.




Setup menu
Choose movement options, life limit, and defensive mechanism
        A menu will appear before beginning a new game with any options set to CUSTOMIZE MENU METHOD in the TUNING DIPSW.
        Set options with main shot, and cancel with subweapon.


Replay data menu
Select a slot with up and down, and press main shot to play
        Press subweapon while any game start option is selected to enter the replay menu.
        There are ten slots, sorted by play mode and segment.
        Pick a slot with the direction pad, and press main shot to play.
        You may use suspend to end the replay and retry to fast-forward.

        The following information will also be displayed about the current replay:

For both FULL SEQUENCE ORDER and SHORT MISSION

(1):  The segments completed are shown from left to right. SH stands for the Shrine of Farewell.

(2):  The number of extends (either from breakthroughs or revives) is shown.
      The number for each stage is shown from right to left,
      corresponding to the stage enumeration above.

(3):  The number of mistakes made (both hits and defends).
(4):  The number of defends.
(5):  The number of lives lost (without defending).
(6):  The number of consecutive mistakes within a short period of time.

(7):  The stages in which SPIRIT breakthroughs occured.
(8):  The stages in which KILL breakthroughs occured.

A vertical orange line through a stage represents the use of a continue.
        Press subweapon to exit the replay menu.


Replay saving
Select a slow with up and down, and save with main shot
        After a game, an option will appear to save the replay.
        Once again, there are ten slots by game mode and segment.
        Press main shot to save into the selected slot.
        (If you select a slot which already has a replay, you will be asked whether or not to overwrite. Pick YES or NO and press main shot.)

        Information about existing replays will be displayed as above.

        Exit the menu by either saving the replay or pressing subweapon.
